Joshua 1:9

April is coming to a close, we are rounding the bend of the last weekend and things just are not as I had planned.

I had to dust off the disappointment and stop dwelling on the fact that I'm not getting my way...

We are still waiting for a house, Nik is still leaving for the summer, he still is unsure when and if he'll be able to help move us in (boy did we pick a time to DITY move!) and I am still unsure on where we will be moving, or when we will be.

All that is still "unknown"....

And the cabin is still piles of travel things that need to be can't be put away.

So in the midst of my uncertainty and frustration, I am putting Wes down for his nap. And I sing him his verse (GT song):
"Joshua, Joshua, Joshua 1 verse 9, da-du-du-dum, 'Have I not commanded you be strong and courageous? Have I not commanded you be strong and courageous? Do not be terrified. Do not be discouraged. For The Lord your God will be with you, wherever, wherever you will go.' Joshua, Joshua, Joshua 1 verse 9...."

And it's like a sip of coffee. Or those commercials about the nasal spray that clears up your view as the TV brightens from dull to vibrant colors.

Not only am I commanded (challenged) to be strong, but God is my lord and with me always, wherever I am.

Refreshing truth.

So if April didn't do what it was supposed to and May is looking just as challenging (as it is for me) you have a reason to be strong and courageous.

Side Note:
Wes is learning to sing along now. He doesn't quite get the words (hopefully he'll grow out of that and be less like me and more like Nik) but does his best. He knows the tune of this song and sings along. Melts my heart.

(Ooo. Fancy-shmancy.
