Project Muse: Week 1

imaginary door.

Grabbing the handle she felt foolish, as anyone would holding onto something no one else could see. As she turned it the silliness melted away as color, lines and definition drew around her hand, a doorknob. The magic didn't stop there, before she had rotated the knob she stood infront of a fully drawn door, complete with wood etchings and a nice pine finish. It smelt old, like it had been there for years. She let go of the handle to touch the door.
She paused, if this door was the product her imagination cooked up in merely in a few moments, what would she find upon opening it?

Twisting the handle, she gave it a pull. It didn't budge. She started to feel silly again as she continued to yank, her curiosity however was stronger than her embarrassment and now she wanted to know what could be behind the door.

After a few more pulls, and groan of frustration, she released the handle. She made a fist and gave it a good hard pound.

The pound was mistaken for a knock, and the door creaked open.

She smiled. Stood back, and with a deep breath opened it up. And carefully peered inside. It was completely dark, and then as she stepped into the darkness an entire world lit up around her, like someone had turned on the light. And right as she was about to go explore it, she turned around and closed the door behind her... this was her world, and she didn't have to share it. Not yet anyway.
